Outstanding service and amazing food! I asked for suggestions, since I usually get Tika Masala! She recommended the Tandoori chicken, and it was amazing! Also tried the chicken Pakora! Delicious! Portions were enormous, 2 meals for me and 1 for my hubby!
I had been hearing about this place in Crystal City, over by the Enterprise car rentals/.Some said they had been going there for years. It has been there for 15 years. Last night we showed up. It's a two story building and the pickup driver told us upstairs is for pickup and the downstairs is for dine- in. We were warmly greeted and ushered into the dining room. So clean, lots of tables and chairs and not crowded. I ordered lamb tiki masala and the lamb was so tender. I've never had lamb so tender and the rice was perfect.... The nan was warm and tasty and never got hard like some bread does when it cools. I ordered a small Kingfisher and several water refills. My Queen had chicken Tiki Masala and it was amazing, tasteful and tender. I'm planning my next trip.
Finally a delicious and authentic Indian restaurant in National Landing. We decided to try Kohinoor Dhaba after trying several other Indian restaurants without satisfaction. We found the portions to be standard, prices slightly elevated but worth it, and the taste was phenomenal. Great flavor and depth of spice. Would totally recommend.
Delicious and super fresh food!!! Love that I live close by here because this is my go-to when I crave Indian food. Highly recommend their kormas, naans, samosa chaat, Rogan josh, paneer kulcha, and mango lassi!! Honestly I have no doubt everything on their menu is, I just have to work my way through it all. Their portions are quite big and the chicken breast pieces they use in their curries are not dry like some other places. Their basmati rice is so fragrant and heavenly. The dining room downstairs feels like an auntie's living room, especially with the news playing on the TV, so ambiance isn't their strong suit. Come here for the amazing food and friendly owners
After a long fight from San Diego to the east coast and only having a complementary biscotti on American Airlines, it was nice to finally enjoy a delicious dinner at Kohinoor Dhaba an Indian Restaurant in Arlington, VA. For appetizer we had the #8 Mixed Veggies samosa it was a bit spicy and dry for me. I give it a 3.8/5. For dinner we ordered the #47 Lamb Vandalu. It was spicy but delicious sauce with right amount of spices and give it a 4/5. We also ordered the #50 Chicken tikka masala with one order of #22 Garlic Naan bread and both were OUTSTANDING and give it 5/5!! Definitely coming back for these two. The ambiance was not the fanciest but the service was great and restaurant was very clean with nice photos of temples in India. Give this place a try when in the area! Happy Yelping :)
Big fan of this place. We got take out recently, and they were on time with making the food, and everything was delicious. I really like the lamb roganjosh - the lamb is so tender and the curry is very flavorful. Their naan is great. I'm a fan of their vegetable samosas as well. Will keep coming back to them!
If you are looking for classic, unstuffy Indian food that is phenomenal, this the place. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall. The dining room is in a basement, the tablecloths are plastic, the floor is tiled. It's not a fancy place. But the food is worth it. I got the muttar paneer which was the perfect level of spice, it had lots of flavor and was sooo creamy. I got an order of naan with it and it was freshly made. My companions got the tikka masala and lamb curry and they both raved about them. The service was very slow - it took almost 40 minutes to get our meal. It wouldn't have been a problem normally, but we were on a tight schedule, so it was a problem that it also took awhile to get our check. But I will be back, just on a day where I can afford to spend more time here.
More items and their ratings! Mutter Paneer - 5* wow! This is so delicious! Loved the creamy texture and the bold flavor with the mellow paneer. The peas are also a great texture, not mushy at all. Chicken Kadhai - 5* fantastic flavour! I'd definitely get this again and would love to try the shrimp version sometime! Shrimp Biryani - 4* this one has a little bit of a kick to it which I enjoyed. If you like biryani you'll probably this. The only reason it doesn't get 5* from me is purely personal preference (I'm more of an Asian fried rice kinda person when it comes to rice dishes) Vegetable Samosa - 4* the sweeter brown sauces pairs very well. And I really liked the texture of the samosa shell. Paneer Kulcha - 3* good but nothing special. I'll stick with the garlic naan. Daal Makhani - 3* wasn't as big of a fan as I wanted to be. I've had really good Daal before but I think they were in creamier dishes. This was under the vegan section so I knew there wouldn't be cream. It doesn't really surprise me I didn't love it as I tend not to love just beans on their own and this was basically an Indian bean soup. Good to have a little next to a larger portion of your favourite main dish. Kari Pkora - 2.5-3* I liked the fritters but I did not like the sauce at all, it was rather sour.
I ordered takeout from Kohinoor Dhaba and all the dishes we got were tasty and hot! The takeout service was slow though. The Tikka Masala that I ordered was good but missing something, maybe the cream was too heavy. I also wish the serving size was a little larger for the price. I highly recommend Alu Paratha bread and would definitely consider trying some of their other breads another time. The bread was great for dipping into the Tikka Masala sauce.
